Two copies of everything. Always.
Backup for Windows, macOS, and Linux computers plus Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace mail and files. Every backup is replicated to a second storage node, so one failed server never takes your only copy with it.
Included with every Managed IT plan · $10/TB standalone · $6/TB for MSPs
Redundant copies, built in.
- Mirrored automatically after every maintenance run, copying only what's new.
- Checked independently. Replicas get their own weekly integrity check, so the second copy is verified, not assumed.
- Safety brakes. A mirror that would delete more than half of the replica stops and alerts us instead.
- Nodes look after each other. Storage nodes keep in touch directly and keep serving and replicating even if the management console is down.
Ransomware-resistant
Computers can only add to their backups, never delete or overwrite them. Cleanup happens only on our servers, on schedule.
Encrypted, end to end
Every backup set is AES-256 encrypted, with keys wrapped per organization and never written to logs or kept on storage nodes.
Isolated per machine
Each computer and cloud account gets its own backup set. A compromised laptop can't read its neighbors' data.
Computers and cloud, in one place.
Every device and every mailbox for an organization, on one dashboard.
Windows, macOS & Linux
A native app on each platform, with a background service that backs up even when nobody's signed in. Works with OneDrive-redirected folders on Windows.
Microsoft 365
Mail, OneDrive, SharePoint, calendars, and contacts for every protected user, backed up incrementally.
Google Workspace
Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Contacts for every protected user, with full and incremental snapshots for point-in-time recovery.
Set it once. It keeps up.
Only what changed, as it changes.
The first backup is full. After that, MHN Backup watches for changes and uploads only new, deduplicated, compressed data, so bandwidth tracks what you actually changed.
- Hourly, daily, weekly, or continuous, where a backup starts shortly after files change.
- Skips the run when nothing changed, with a full scan every day as a safety net.
- Easy on the machine: CPU, memory, and bandwidth limits, busy-hours throttling, and waits while on battery or a metered connection.
Get it back, your way.
Pick a point in time, browse the backup like a folder, and choose what to bring back.
- Push a restore to any online computer: the same one, or a replacement laptop, to the original location or a new folder.
- Self-service when you allow it. Users can download or restore their own files from the web, limited to their own home folder.
- Mail and files from the cloud download as standard .eml messages and original documents.
Live Progress

Layered Backup Plans
Defaults for everyone, overrides per organization or computer, and lock-down or let-users-add modes.
CombineRMM & Service Desk
Backup status shows up in CombineRMM, and failed or stale backups can open tickets through webhooks.
Secure Sign-In
Passkeys, authenticator codes, and a fresh re-check before anyone downloads or restores data.
Alerts That Matter
Failed, stale, and never-completed backups are flagged, so silent failures don't stay silent.
Full Audit Trail
Every restore and download is logged: who asked, for which machine, and when.
Pay for storage. Protect everything.
Every plan covers as many devices and Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace accounts as its storage allows. No per-device or per-mailbox fees.

One console. Every client.
MHN Backup was built multi-tenant from day one: your company at the top, your client organizations under it, and their computers and cloud accounts under them.
- Client organizations, kept apart. Each has its own encryption key, plans, and restore rules.
- Roles that fit: your admins and technicians, plus client admins and end users who only see their own machines.
- Self-service on your terms. Off by default, enabled per client, and switched off per user at offboarding.
- Plugs into your stack. Deploy agents from your RMM with enrollment tokens, and read status, storage, and jobs over the API.
Frequently asked questions
-
What does “replicated” mean for me?
Your backups exist on two separate storage servers. The home node takes each backup, and a replica node keeps a mirrored, independently checked copy. If one server, disk, or location has a problem, your data is still safe on the other.
-
Is MHN Backup really included with Managed IT?
Yes. Every Managed IT Services plan includes MHN Backup for your computers and your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace accounts. We set it up, watch it, and do the restores.
-
How is storage counted?
Standalone is $10 per TB per month, and MSPs pay $6 per TB per month. Your plan's storage covers every device and cloud account you protect, with no per-device or per-mailbox fees. Backups are deduplicated and compressed, so they usually take up less space than the original files.
-
Can my users restore their own files?
If you turn it on. Self-service restore is off by default and can be enabled per organization. When it's on, users sign in on the web and can only browse, download, and restore files from their own home folder. When it's off, they can send IT a restore request in one click.
-
Can I restore email straight back into a mailbox?
Today, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace data restores as a download: mail as standard .eml files, and Drive/OneDrive documents in their original format. Restoring directly back into the mailbox or drive is on the roadmap.
-
What about ransomware?
Computers can only add new data to their backups. They can't delete or overwrite anything, so malware on a laptop can't wipe its own backup history. Old data is only cleaned up on our servers by scheduled maintenance, and each machine's backups are kept separate from every other machine's.
-
Which platforms are supported?
Windows (MSI with a tray app), macOS (signed and notarized app with a menu bar icon), and Linux (.deb with a desktop app), plus Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Everything is managed from one web console.
